A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today to unveil the Greensboro Coliseum Complex’s newest venue – Piedmont Hall.
Located adjacent to White Oak Amphitheatre on the Coliseum Complex campus, Piedmont Hall is a new 20,000-square-foot indoor venue that will host its first event on Sept. 6.
The multipurpose event space will have an open floor plan with multiple levels that will allow patrons to stand for live entertainment events and allow myriad event configurations. Concert events will be general admission (standing room only).
The venue is fully ADA accessible and features amenities including state-of-the-art sound and lights, new concession stands, premium bar service, an outdoor patio area and connected dining space.
The result of a privately funded $4 million renovation of a portion of the former Canada Dry bottling plant, Piedmont Hall will open on Friday (Sept. 6) with Aaron Lewis in concert. The venue’s entertainment calendar also includes legendary singer-songwriter Elvis Costello in concert on Saturday, Nov. 2.
“Our staff identified an opportunity in the Piedmont Triad marketplace for a multipurpose venue with a 2,300 person capacity,” said Greensboro Coliseum Complex managing director Matt Brown. “The renovation of the Canada Dry warehouse was a natural setting to create a dynamic space that would have the flexibility to host a wide variety of events and compliment White Oak Amphitheatre and our other facilities.”
