Steel Panther, the comedic glam metal ensemble from Los Angeles, originated in 2000 as Metal Shop, underwent a name change to Metal Skool, and eventually settled on Steel Panther in 2008. Led by Michael Starr, the band gained prominence on the Sunset Strip in the early 2000s. Their debut album, released in 2009, featured humorous lyrics and topped the Billboard Comedy chart. Following albums in 2011 and 2014 continued their revival of heavy metal. In 2016, an acoustic album was released, and their sixth studio album, dropped in 2023, marked another milestone. Notably, the band appeared on America's Got Talent in 2023.
