Greensboro Aquatic Center to host 'Float-in' Olympic Viewing Party

The Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) will host a floating ‘Olympic Viewing Party’ on Friday, August 12.

Guests can bring pool floats to watch the action from the water as the GAC will air NBC’s national telecast of the Summer Olympic Games on its 12’x24’ full-color scoreboard! The evening broadcast will include men’s and women’s swimming competitions expected to feature some of Team USA’s top swimmers including Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky, Maya Dirado and Nathan Adrian.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. with televised events beginning at 9 p.m. Activities will also include games, an appearance by the GAC’s official mascot T-Wave, contests and prizes including GAC punch passes and tickets to Greensboro Coliseum Complex events.

Admission to the viewing party is free and the event is open to the public. Donations to the GAC’s second grade ‘Learn to Swim’ program in conjunction with Guilford County Schools will also be accepted.
