Traffic Alert for Coliseum Area for August 5-8
Submitted by abrown on August 3, 2010 - 2:06pm

Greensboro based Market America will hold its annual International Convention August 5-8 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.
In anticipation of a high volume of traffic surrounding the Coliseum, the Coliseum Complex, Greensboro Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Greensboro Police Department (GPD) advise all conventioneers to plan to arrive early and carpooling is strongly encouraged. Additionally, the GPD will be managing major intersections in the vicinity of the Coliseum and variable messaging systems will be deployed to advise motorists with parking and traffic information.
It is recommended that commuters not attending the Market America convention be aware that the Coliseum/High Point Road area is expected to have a high volume of traffic during morning and evening rush hours as well as the event’s mid-day lunch break (approximately 12:30 – 2:30 each day).
Coliseum parking lots are scheduled to open at 7:00 am daily. Commuters should also be alert for pedestrians as this event is being serviced by several dozen charter buses that provide drop-off and pick-up service along High Point Road.
2010 marks the 18th consecutive year Market America has held its annual Convention in Greensboro, home of its worldwide headquarters. The convention provides Market America Customer Managers, from across the world, with business and product training, product demonstrations and leadership from the company’s executive team, field leaders and industry experts.
