Harlem Globetrotter “legend” Curly Neal and Globetrotter ambassador Hot Shot Branch made appearances throughout the Triad on Thursday to promote the Globetrotters’ March 21st visit to the Greensboro Coliseum.
The visits included fun at WFMY’s Good Morning Show and the Fox 8 Morning News, followed by a stop at 98.7 Simon to talk to with Skip the Prize Guy. From there, it was off to visit the new International Civil Rights Center & Museum in downtown Greensboro.
After the museum, Curly and Hot Shot headed over to the Hayes-Taylor YMCA to talk to kids in the facility’s after- school program. The visit was a homecoming for Curly, a former star at Greensboro’s Dudley High School, who grew up in the Hayes-Taylor gym that now features a huge mural of him on the wall. Wrapping up the day, Hot Shot spoke to nearly 1,000 students in the Coliseum Complex’s Pavilion as part of the ACC’s Hoop for Kids program.
